Dec 31 Death of leopard still a mystery. CHANDRAPUR: Even after the postmortem of the dead leopard that was found in the farm of one Laxman Harde near village Bhisi in Chimur tehsil on Saturday, the reason behind the death remains shrouded in mystery. With no visible injury marks and all body parts intact, the chances of the animal having been killed by poachers are low. As doctors also failed to ascertain the reason behind the death, the probability of intentional sabotage by poisoning to curb the intrusion of wild animals in farms has increased. B S Padve, RFO of Chimur Forest Range, said that the veterinary doctor of Chimur Veterinary Hospital performed the postmortem on Sunday at about 10 am and later, the body was cremated. |
